Single Pair Ethernet Technology

As its name suggests, Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) cabling uses only one pair of wires to transmit data, as opposed to the two pair that have long been standard in the majority of Ethernet cabling in use worldwide.

Spurred by the rapid growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) and the need to provide cost-effective power, connectivity and security to billions of connected devices, often at distances exceeding 100 meters, SPE has emerged as a solution that can support emerging needs and consolidate new applications under the Ethernet protocol.

Because SPE uses only two wires, its cables are simple, inexpensive, lightweight, and easy to install.
